Seminar on Animal Health and Welfare, Budva, Montenegro

Within its Pre-Accession Programme, European Food Safety Authority is organizing Seminar on Animal Health and Welfare, taking place on 25/26 January 2012 in Budva, Montenegro. This seminar will enable the representatives of Animal Health and Welfare Unit to present EFSA's role in contributing to the improvement of animal health in Europe. Also practical examples of risk assessment, as the basis for the scientific opinions are foreseen. Furthermore, experts from the Member States will share their views and experiences in the area of stunning and killing, transport and animal housing and management as well as on animal diseases. Experts from the European Commission will inform on the latest developments on risk management, while representatives from the competent authorities in the beneficiary countries will present the state of art of animal health and welfare in their countries. The audience will consist of approximately 50 participants representing competent food safety authorities from Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia, Kosovo, Macedonia, Montenegro, Serbia and Turkey.
