Call for applications for an in-service training period at the European Food Safety Authority

European Food Safety Authority (EFSA) has published a call for applications for an in-service training period in 2012. In-service training enables trainees to acquire practical experience by means of their work and to put into practice the knowledge they have acquired during their academic studies or professional careers in the areas of science, communication or administration.

Seminar on Animal Health and Welfare, Budva, Montenegro

Within its Pre-Accession Programme, European Food Safety Authority is organizing Seminar on Animal Health and Welfare, taking place on 25/26 January 2012 in Budva, Montenegro.
This seminar will enable the representatives of Animal Health and Welfare Unit to present EFSA's role in contributing to the improvement of animal health in Europe. Also practical examples of risk assessment, as the basis for the scientific opinions are foreseen. Furthermore, experts from the Member States will share their views and experiences in the area of stunning and killing, transport and animal housing and management as well as on animal diseases. Experts from the European Commission will inform on the latest developments on risk management, while representatives from the competent authorities in the beneficiary countries will present the state of art of animal health and welfare in their countries. The audience will consist of approximately 50 participants representing competent food safety authorities from Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia, Kosovo, Macedonia, Montenegro, Serbia and Turkey.

Cross Border Cooperation between Hungary and Croatia – Transferring Innovative Technologies into Food Production

A two-day workshop and the kick-off meeting of the project partners, Kaposvàr University, Chamber of Economy of the City of Kaposvàr, and South Transdanubian Regional Innovation Agency, from Hungarian side, and Faculty of Agriculture of the University of Osijek and Croatian Food Agency, from the Croatian side of the border, took place in Osijek, on 9-10 November 2011.

World Food Day 2011 International Conference "Food Prices–from Crises to Stability"

The Croatian Food Agency (HAH) and the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) organised an international conference to mark the World Food Day 2011. The conference was organised under the high auspices of the Prime Minister of the Republic of Croatia, Ms Jadranka Kosor and under the auspices of the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Rural Development and the City of Osijek.
